The resolution of professional CCTV cameras is constantly increasing. Current examples are the VKC-1375 and VKCD-1375 from eneo: they make details clearly identifiable with 650 TV lines so that, for instance, they are ideal for identification of vehicle number plates. Of course, this presupposes that the hooked-up monitor also has a minimum resolution at least as high as that of the camera. This is where the VMC-19LCD-HMPG1 and VMC-19LCD-HPPG1 TFT monitors enter the scene with their horizontal resolution of 700 TV lines. In addition to improved detail recognition, a further advantage of the high resolution is that eyes do not tire as quickly and this therefore releases strain on security personnel so that they work with greater productivity. Together with intelligent analysis functions, as offered by the VKC-1375 and VKCD-1375 or the Zelaris management software, very efficient surveillance is assured.
3D comb filter decoder
The outstanding picture quality of these monitors is also supported by the digital 3D comb filter decoder, which prevents colour streaks and distorted colour borders by adding forward and back images to the input and therefore giving better separation to the interleaved colour and black/white signals. And the monitors show the signals clearly and distortion-free even in adverse surveillance conditions such as darkness or with quickly moving objects such as vehicles on main roads or motorways. This is provided by the integral artefact, distortion and motion-blur reduction.
Anti-burn function and protection glass
The fact that the picture quality of eneo TFT monitors remains constant over a long time is ensured by the anti-burn function that prevents pixel “burn-in”. As opposed to CRT monitors where the screen content can actually burn into the phosphorous layer of the cathode ray tube, this phenomenon occurs on LCD monitors through a static charge of parts of the screen when the screen content is not changed over a long time period, as is frequently the case in surveillance situations. The anti-burn function of the eneo LCD monitors toggles automatically between normal and underscan so that the detail only changes insignificantly but at the same time the static screen charge is countered. Furthermore, protection glass is applied to the screens to protect the sensitive TFT surface from fingerprints and scratches. This also makes cleaning much easier as the TFT displays do not need a special cleaner – any commercially available glass cleaner can do the job.
Versions review
In addition to the above 19” versions, 17” models are also available. The difference between HMPG1 and HPPG1 is limited to the different housing material: whilst LCD monitors in the HMPG1 Series have a very rugged aluminium housing for use in the industrial environment, the HPPG1 Series comes with a compact plastic housing. All versions feature as standard: CVBS, S-Video, HDMI, RGB and audio inputs, multiple language on-screen menus (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech and Russian), IR remote control and integrated loudspeakers. A 19” installation kit is also available as an option.
