Solutions for Cost-Efficient Networked Surveillance

Costs can spiral upward for small and medium-sized networked surveillance systems in particular when, in addition to hardware such as IP cameras and IP domes, licences for video management software have to be purchased for recording and managing video signals. But the use of purchased software is frequently not necessary when the application does not require the functions made possible by such a professional solution.

Freeware solutions
A software solution is always bundled with our IP cameras and IP domes allowing recording and playback of video on an intuitively operated user interface. PTZ control, export of recorded material, archiving and search in recordings are further functions. Freeware solutions therefore provide precisely those functions that are fully adequate for the majority of applications.

GL-Manager, Nimra, Numina
The freeware includes GL Manager, Nimra and Numina. GL Manager is ideal for all GL Series products, i.e. for the GLC IP Cameras, GLD Domes and GLS Servers. Nimra and Numina were developed for the N Series, for the NLC and NXC IP Cameras, NLD and NXD IP Domes as well as the NLS Servers. Numina is a client/server solution for up to 64 video sources (maximum of 32 recommended). Nimra, like GL Manager, is a single workstation solution for up to 16 video sources, but it can also operate as a Windows client for the Numina server. An important difference is compatibility with the ONVIF standard: whilst solely products from the respective series can be used with the single workstation solutions, products that support this standard made by other manufacturers can also be integrated over the ONVIF interface with Numina. GL Manager does not provide this interface, Nimra only as a client together with Numina.
